FAQ

What do I wear?

This is a dance class so wear something you are comfortable in. Generally girls wear shorts, leggings, cropped tracksuit bottoms and vests/ T-shirts. As the weeks go by you will need to have bare skin for gripping the pole on climbs and inverts so shorts and vests are generally best. As for footwear the choice is yours, trainers, sexy heels, ballet/dance shoes. Bare feet are not acceptable due to health and safety reasons in the venues.

Please do not wear jewellery, watches or anything that will scratch or mark the poles. Do not wear moisturiser to class as it makes the poles very slippery and makes the moves very difficult on the pole.

How big is the class?

Generally classes are about 9 people maximum of 3 people per pole for beginner level. This allows enough time on the pole and breaks to avoid any muscle injuries as pole dancing can be very strenuous.

How strenuous is pole dancing?

Pole dancing tones your body and works all of your muscle groups. It requires upper body strength and as the weeks progress you will notice your strength increasing. Most people on the first class do not feel as though they will ever have the strength to do the weeks then after a few weeks they are climbing and inverting no problem so persevere with it and you will reap the rewards.

Am I too old / wrong shape / unfit?

Pole dancing can be done by anyone and all classes are tailored to suit individual needs as it can be appreciated that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses so I generally work with you individually to see what you want to achieve from the classes.

Are men allowed?

At the moment the classes scheduled are for women only

Do I need to bring anything else?

You may wish to bring some water or money for a drink at the bar (sometimes a glass of wine helps you let your hair down), and if you bruise easily an exercise mat for the floorwork.

Do you offer private lessons/hen parties?

Yes, if you would like to book a private lesson or hire me for a hen party then please get in touch and I will be happy to help.

Is there any stripping involved in class and are there spectators?

The classes are a fitness class and will be treated in the same way as if you were at a gym doing an exercise class. There is no stripping and noone watching what you do. If this was something you wished to do as a one off hen party booking then this can be accommodated but the general classes will not have any form of stripping.

What do the classes involve?

Classes will consist of a warm up to music and during the classes you will learn a series of spins, poses, transitional moves and climbs that you will then be able to put together into routines. At the end of the class there will be some stretching to avoid any muscle strain after workouts.

How and when do I pay for classes?

Generally the courses run in blocks of 6 and this is payable upfront on the first night of the course. I accept cash, cheques or alternatively should you wish to paypal upfront I will provide you with my details.

What is your privacy policy regarding contact details?

No information that you provide will be shared with a third party. The only reason your details are taken is in case I need to get hold of you regarding a cancellation or change to lesson or to contact your emergency contact in case of injury. I may also send out the occasional news letters informing you of new course dates but that’s is all.
